
Dr. Dina Abiri
Dr. Dina Abiri is a board-certified psychiatrist who takes a holistic approach to health, focusing on her patients’ goals while fostering wellness and resilience.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, where she studied Neuroscience and History. During her time there, she was accepted into the prestigious Writing Fellows Program, where she worked across disciplines at both Barnard and Columbia College, helping students refine their writing skills. She went on to complete a master’s degree in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University, further developing her expertise in storytelling and story elicitation—skills she recognized as essential for understanding patients’ experiences beyond clinical knowledge.
Dr. Abiri was recruited by the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell to help develop their narrative medicine program. After medical school, she completed her psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where she also taught medical students and residents. She continues to advance her knowledge in functional, integrative, and lifestyle medicine to help her patients achieve their healthiest and most fulfilling lives.
Currently, Dr. Abiri is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she continues to work and teach.
